Starting the Rank Bar

I've ordered the transparent buttons that many people use for the rank bar. I only needed 3 red and 3 blue, but I got extra hoping to put together more than one bar.
I picked up some aluminum from Lowes and cut it to the proper length. Now I just need to polish it up a bit to get a nice shine before I start gluing the buttons down. Hope to have this updated very soon...

Today I ordered my belt! Shouldn't be long before I have my first fully completed costume piece!

Scrapped the Hat

Ok, so it looks to me like the hat is gonna be a bit large. I've scrapped it without attempting the liner. Went and bought more fabric today. I'm hoping the next size down on the pattern will be good...

Change of mind on the Tunic

I've decided to order my tunic instead of altering the pattern to make one. It seems like (without doing any actual math) it will be cheaper in the long run to just order it. Only time will tell, I might be kicking myself for this later...

Imperial Hats!

Last night I (should read "my wife") sat down at the sewing machine and did some work.

The visor on the hat was the hardest part. Here's the second attempt (the first ended badly...)

And now with the visor attached.

Still need to do the inner lining, but I think it's looking good!

Cuttin' it Up

Got the pattern cut out and ready to sew! Hopefully in the next day or two I can talk the wife into sewing!
